How Jass works with brides

You sit down, talk through the day, and leave knowing what the morning will look like. She pays attention to your jewellery, your outfit, and how long you will be in photos. The makeup is meant to look like you, just finished, from the first family portrait through the last dance.

Looks she does a lot of

South Asian bridal

Lehenga, jewellery, heat, and a long photo timeline. Skin is prepped so foundation stays put. Eyes can be classic kohl, a soft smoke, or colour that actually matches the outfit. Bindi, matha patti, and dupatta get planned with the makeup, not squeezed in at the end.

Western bridal

Clean skin, defined eyes, a lip that survives vows and dinner. Hair might be a soft updo, waves, or whatever you and your photographer already talked about. It should look good in the room and in photos, not only on a phone filter.

Fusion days

Two outfits, two ceremonies, one artist. A lot of brides want something lighter for the civil ceremony and richer for the evening. Jass plans the switch so you are not still in the chair when guests start arriving.

Packages

The full bridal makeup package is $1500. That is hair and makeup for the wedding look, not a stripped-down “face only” teaser. Mehndi, Jaggo, and other pre-wedding nights are priced on their own, so you are not buying a second bridal package for those.

Lashes are an add-on. A trial is worth it if you have never sat with Jass, or if you have a very specific look in mind, like a cut crease, coloured liner, or a family photo you want to honour.

Weddings around here

Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley mix gurdwara mornings, church ceremonies, backyard tents, and hotel ballrooms. Summer Saturdays go first. If you are getting ready in Langley or Surrey, mention it when you inquire. It changes the call time.

Brides coming from Chilliwack and Mission sometimes do a trial or a quiet prep day at the studio, then have Jass come to them on the wedding morning. That keeps the actual day shorter.

What the morning looks like

• Book 2–3 months ahead for peak season, earlier if the party is large.
• Send the venue address, first-look time, and whether hair is included.
• If you book a trial, wedding morning is just doing the look, not figuring it out.
• Come with clean, dry hair and a fresh face. A button or zip top makes life easier.
• Skin prep, hair, makeup, then a last look in daylight before you leave.

Studio or she comes to you

The studio is at 3526 Thurston Place in Abbotsford. Quiet, good light, and a break from a busy house. On-location makes sense when the photographer is already at the venue, or when family is getting ready in the same home.

She travels across the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. Further than that is possible. Just ask. There is one studio address; appointments start there or at your place, not a second shop in another city.

Before you come

• Inspiration photos that look like your skin and jewellery, not only a celebrity screenshot.
• Mention any skincare that might react, like retinoids, a recent peel, or laser.
• Say who else needs makeup and in what order.
• Bring a sense of the neckline and earrings so hair can work with them.
• Skip new products the week of. Drink water. That is most of it.

The rest of the wedding week

Most weeks are more than one look. For Mehndi, Jaggo, or a birthday in the same month, see hair and makeup for events. Same artist, a little less intensity, so the bridal morning still feels like the main event.
